Beastie Boys Short Film to Hit Sundance

The Beastie Boys have a lot in the works recently. After Adam “MCA” Yauch’s recent battle with cancer, the Boys decided to delay their new album, Hot Sauce Committee Part 1, instead deciding to push forward with it’s follow up, Hot Sauce Committee Part 2 (which has an almost identical track listing to Part 1). Parl 2 is due out early 2011. In other Beastie Boys happenings, MCA himself just announced that he has directed a short film based on the band’s early video for “Fight For your Right (To Party).” The original video depicted the boys crashing a party and basically destroying the place, leaving right as the host’s parents came home. This new video, as MCA explains it on the band’s site, features many well-known actors playing the boys and continuing the story of that day. It’s to be called, “Fight For Your Right Revisited” and, according to NME, will be at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival. The film will star Elijah Wood, Danny McBride, Seth Rogen, Will Ferrell, John C Reilly and Jack Black. We’re guessing over here it should be epic, to say the least.
